Gadget lust, holiday edition
Must. Have. Now.
Edit: Okay, still not convinced? If you're not susceptible to gadget lust, you'll surely be susceptible to product cuteness, so here. As early as spring 2008, the EEE will be available in cute colors! And a new, lower price tag ($300) for slightly less memory and no built-in camera. Did I say cute colors?

You still planning on going tech-nekkid when you go back home?
*noogies*
So, yeah, the Asus EEE is aimed squarely at dorks like me, for sure. Viva la revolucion! I may not be buying a smartphone, now...oh noes...
I need to have a garage sale, that's all. Any tips? I got lots of crap in the garage that I could sell. Lots. Mr. IG would never have to know! :-P
Word is, the 8GB version (with 1 GB RAM) will ship in the spring. The nice thing about it, that's maybe worth waiting for, is that it will reportedly have a 10" screen (vs. 7") -- without increasing the overall size of the device. This is possible because of the side bezels; i.e. the current 7" version doesn't make full use of its real estate.
However--the 8GB version will apparently not be available in the cute colors. Nuts!
The most logical way for me to acquire the money would be to get a job... but I'm not quite that desperate yet. :P
But at these prices you could get one of each color! (You knew I was going to say that.)
"Upgrade" to Vista and you will be!!!!
When I got my current laptop at the beginning of the year, it was on sale because Vista was just about to be released. My coworker Mark had been testing Vista for months, so I asked him whether I should wait for the Vista machines to come out, or just take advantage of the sale prices on the XP laptops. His advice was to grab the XP laptop and run. I still have a "free Vista upgrade" CD lying around somewhere. A shiny new drink coaster.
Actually there are a lot of good things in Vista, but they're all stolen from Apple's more recent OSes. The stupid stuff - of which there's plenty - is, of course, all Microsoft's idea.

Hey, while I have you two on the line... Bunny questions. Buz has been marking the sofa like crazy. He pee'd on me this morning. Hours later he pee'd on the sofa. I got his little butt into the cage before he could let the whole shpiel out. So many things have changed, I can't begin to figure out what's going on in his head: I rearranged the living room; I flipped the cushions on the sofa; and Sophie. If it were Sophie, I'd think he'd mark everywhere. If it were the furniture, I'd think he'd mark everywhere. Cushions? Your thoughts?

Maybe either put a plastic tablecloth on it for now, or a litterbox, or both?
What does Auntie C have to say?
About the couch...I'm thinking it's related to Sophie, not just the furniture rearrangement. Indy is always very curious when we move things around, but it's never disturbing enough to her to mark like Buz is doing. What's the story on the couch, is it your special place? If it's where you (and Buz) spend quality time together, the excessive marking of it would make sense. Flipping the cushion on the day that Sophie arrived might have led Buz to make a mental connection between the two. So...if he can make the cushion smell the same as it did before, he reaffirms his primacy in the household.
Jaypo--is flipping the cushion back to the way it was before an option? Just until Buz is feeling more secure? Not sure that would halt the marking, but...
...which is why I think it's probably the cushion flip.
Sophie hasn't been on the couch hardly at all--mostly on the chairs. AND-->when she was just visiting and was on the sofa and the floor, no marking.
I do.
I think so, he's also been chinning alot.
No, it's been in the works for a long time, just finally got around to it yesterday.
yes, it's our snuggle place.
Sophie arrived on Wednesday when the living room was as it always has been. He started marking some then but nothing like the past couple of days.
e, remember after I first got him he was doing that alot? Maybe he just needs re-assurance...
Just so you know, N. has been re-pooping on things that she long ago claimed as hers - it seems like she has a real need to do that every now and then. Am sure it would be clear to us if we
